Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The best method to improve your gear in Path of Exile is through upgrade of your items. This lets you upgrade your gear without having depend on costly drops or trades. This article will show you how to upgrade your gear.
Upgrades in equipment can add an additional bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components make your armour and weapons stronger. You can find them by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma vendors or finding them in items-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment with them, or through a high-tier salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items upgrades aren't destroyed when they are removed from an item.
The primary function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded, but they also serve other functions. They can be stacked to increase the level of the amount of experience gained by upgrading weapons or gear. They can also be made to provide extra bonuses. For instance, a created glyph can increase the upgrade chance of its target, whereas an upgrade boost will increase the attack or defense property of a weapon, or armor.
Selecting an upgrade template in the GUI will let you bind it to an item. This will show a list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either instance, the item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components are collected.
Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item will gain when upgraded with that component. Organic components, for instance have an increased multiplier of experience than mechanical components. You should upgrade the organic components first, until you reach the next level in the weapon or equipment and then switch to the mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the multiplier for experience every item also has an maximum number of upgrades that it can receive. The number of items that are upgradeable is determined by their upgradeable rank and the kind of upgrade they are able to receive. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon of tier 10. The most commonly used upgrade is a gun with tier 6 and a armor upgrade for tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of items that share a bonus. Each item can be upgraded at least once. The upgrade will increase the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. When you first upgrade the set piece or weapon will give it an increase of +1 to its primary stat. On subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted a little further (for example, +1 up to 12+/13+/14+) Each time you upgrade the item it will have one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrading a weapon can also increase the damage base, which can be important for some builds. Weapons cannot be upgraded for a higher maximum defence roll than their base. Upgrading can be a good way to improve the value of a set and unique items, however it's important to remember that they're not necessarily more effective than a high-level raneword in any build.
If an item you're upgrading comes with a guaranteed bonus, it can be rerolled once and the guarantee will be reset to 0. Rerolling will cost item upgrader of power dice as leveling an item up, but the new item will offer additional bonuses. Upgrades can be made by visiting the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item you will require the proper amount of Minerals and Erons as well as a power dice of each type. These can be purchased by using Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. The NPC will also give a special reward for each tier of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a single time, using the same materials and components as the first item.
Rerolling
A player can play rerolling any item that they acquire in the game if they have enough tokens. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with a level 1 version in another set. Reroll tokens can be purchased in the shop for a small amount of in-game currency. They cannot be refunded. The upgraded item will still come with the extra benefits of the previous one however, its stats will differ as well.
Players can change the identity of their equipment as well as rerolling it by interacting with an NPC upgrader. This will change the identification as a weapon to armor, or reverse it. The basic requirements and stats will remain the same. The change is permanent and will affect all characters that have the gear in question.
The player can also upgrade the level of an item for any equipped equipment. This can be done by interacting with an upgrader NPC and getting upgrade components. The cost of upgrading will depend on the upgrade track, item type and the number of crests. Each step will add 5% more damage to weapons.
Upgrading an item will make it more powerful, but it will reduce its effectiveness. Therefore, it is important to strike a balance between the two. Some items may not be worth upgrading at all and some will require to be upgraded in order to reach their potential. For example an individual player may want to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor that has an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to explore the possibilities of what it can become.
The primary reason people reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game, is that they're trying to get a specific character or weapon that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be costly and time-consuming to obtain and the RNG does not always work in a positive way. The only options are to spend real cash or grind for a long time. Rerolling is a popular feature in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor after upgrading an item. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I believe it was designed to to increase the value of rare items, but since equipment generally drops quickly and is only upgraded once you've reached a certain level it is likely that you will replace the item before it gets too old. It is also not worth upgrading items using gem sockets because the power of the gem will outweigh any increment in the level of.
If you click the upgrade button on an item, you'll be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template for the item and the crest and Valorstone costs to boost the level of the item. The cost of upgrades will vary based on armor and weapons and the latter typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template outlines the stats to be added to an upgraded item, along with its current ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and Crest is calculated using the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. In addition the ilvl of a new upgraded item will be decreased by the template's lvl reduction percentage. For instance an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8percent.
The item will receive upgrades to other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry, and dodge rating, in addition to the base ilvl. These increases are dependent on the upgrade template.

The amount of damage and defense that the item is able to receive when it is leveled can be shown below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All armor and weapons, except practice equipment, gain these stats upon leveling up. The market will determine the worth of these stats. A weapon or armor that has perfect rolls can fetch a much higher price than a non-upp’d version. Similar is the case for other pieces of armor, like tiaras and circlets.
